Stamped by God
For my job, there are seasons when I spend a lot of time mailing packages. Recently I went to the post office to mail a letter and I needed a stamp. Once the stamp was placed on the envelop, the teller then stamped it red with the current date. I had never witnessed a teller stamping the date on my mail. My initial thought was, “maybe it will get there faster.” Either way, I felt confident that what I had put in the envelop was good to go. However, as we know with mail sometimes, we end up asking ourselves, “where is my mail?” Once it leaves our hands, we put all of our trust in those that are handling it. The same should be for God.
It is very easy to put God in that same envelope. We say, “here God, this is my plan, and this is the date I am expecting it to happen.” Then, we things don’t happen according to we get upset and frustrated. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says “for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Our timing does not match the timing of the Lord. That is OK. We consider waiting a time of frustration and impatience. Waiting should be a time of expectation and faith increase. We may not be able to see the date that God has stamped on our destiny, but it is there. Trust the plans He has for your life.
