Ride the Wave
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”.
If you have ever watched a surfer, or heard one tell stories, you will see and hear how they utilize such great strength in order to surf the waves. I decided to look up what it takes to become a surfer and found some great answers which I think can be applied to our faith when we face the “waves” of life.
1. Keep your eyes up (we must never lose focus on God, He will keep us grounded).
2. Commit to staying on the board (it may be tempting to give up, to give in, but God will never give up on us, so stay committed to Him).
3. Never panic (an ultimate testing of our faith is to have the ability to see trouble right in front of us and not worry. Faith turns our natural eyes into spiritual eyes, allowing us to see what God intends for our lives.
When the waves of life, trials, set-backs, and obstacles come at you, think about the surfer and the methods they use to overcome what they see in front of them. We will all face something that seems too big for us to deal with or control, but the plans that God has for our lives will yield great results. Trust that He is taking you through something to make you stronger than before.
