Pursue Peace

Psalms 4:8

Can you think of something tangible that brings you peace? For example, locking your car doors at night brings you a lot more peace than worrying about if someone is going to break in. What about the peace that a smoke alarm brings? When you know that you have something in your house to alert you when there is a fire, it can bring comfort. We purchase items to make us feel safe, but are we seeking the peace of God? Looking a little deeper, part of the reason why we need peace is to help us overcome our fears. Yet, the good news is that, God can give a peace that is strong enough to help us overcome all of our fears. A lot of time our fears and worries can keep us up at night. The Bible says “in peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalms 4:8). God’s peace brings us comfort and safety. It is His will that we all have peace of mind, and remain worry-free. Why? He sacrificed His only Son for our peace that we may have an eternal relationship with Him. Peace is yours…
