I was talking with a young lady the other day who said she felt that she was really different from everyone else and that she didn’t know what her purpose in life was. We hear this all the time right? We get to a point in our lives where we question what it is we are supposed to be doing. We ask ourselves, how can make an impact in the kingdom of God? My response to her? Finding your purpose is not hard. The enemy wants to distract you by making you feel like your uniqueness is purposelessness. What are you passionate about? Can you be successful? Does it glorify God? Go for it! The Bible gives us several commands on what we should be doing with our lives such as making disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). At bare minimum we all have an assignment to obey His word to honor God!
God never makes mistakes. He did not create the heavens and the earth simply to gaze at its beauty. Just as He did not create Adam and Eve without a purpose. In the New Living Translation, Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago”. Even after Adam and Eve disobeyed God, their lives still had a purpose. You can never fall so far that God will not pick you up and use you for His glory. Before we even took our first breath, God had a plan for our lives. It may be hard to go through life with unknowns, but we have to fully trust that God has the best plan for us.
You have been custom-made by God with a purpose!
P.S. I chose this picture because I noticed while all the tennis balls are in the background bouncing, one is not moving at all. It made me think, this is what it looks like to stand out and that is perfectly OK. The tennis ball doesn’t stop being a tennis ball just because it is not bouncing. In a world where everyone is doing the same thing, be you!
