Bloom Where You Are Planted
As the weather finally hits spring, we are beginning to see plants and flowers sprout and bloom. I had the privilege of going with my son’s 1st grade class on a field trip to a garden. At the end, everyone was given a seedling that was planted in a small pot. Most of the kids were disappointed to hear they had to wait before they would see a flower. They were even more bothered by the fact that they had to give it water and sunlight to ensure its growth. I made me realize that we are just like that when it comes to our own lives. God “plants” us somewhere and we impatiently wait to “bloom”. Are we feeding ourselves spiritually with His word? We complain about our current situations, not having enough of everything, hating our jobs, and just unsatisfied with life. James 5:7 says “be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains”. We have to trust that God has us right where He wants us and at the right time your season to bloom will be abundant!
